Bodegas El Paraguas welcomes wine tourism

Bodegas El Paraguas da la bienvenida al enoturismo

With the addition of Iván Pereira Gómez, son of the technical director and owner of Bodegas El Paraguas along with Marcial Pita, Felicísimo Pereira, the fifth generation of the same family dedicated to winemaking are already doing field and winery work at the Galician firm.

Thanks to the help of Iván Pereira, who is bringing a breath of fresh air to Bodegas El Paraguas, a new chapter is beginning for the winery with a modest commitment to wine tourism. Starting this summer, the cellar in Cenlle will be open in the mornings to welcome the public and offer the opportunity to purchase some of the winery’s wines.

Similarly, Bodegas El Paraguas will offer, by prior reservation, visits to the vineyards where its most iconic wines, such as Fai un Sol de Carallo and La Sombrilla, are produced. Some of these vineyards boast century-old vines, such as Finca La Cabrita, planted by Iván Pereira’s great-great-grandfather in 1892, after phylloxera devastated the Ribeiro vineyards.

Joaquín Parra, head of Wine Up, has launched a new edition of his Wine Guide, which includes all the wines produced by Bodegas El Paraguas. In this digital publication, the wines of the Galician firm are positioned, once again, among the best in Spain in their category.

The highest-rated white wine among all Spanish wines, according to the author from La Mancha, was Fai un Sol de Carallo 2022, with a score of 95.77 points. This score establishes Bodegas El Paraguas’s top white wine as one of the best in the guide and, of course, as the best wine made primarily with the Treixadura grape variety.

Meanwhile, La Sombrilla 2022, with a score of 94.15 out of 100, also ranks among the top 10 white wines in Spain according to the author from Castilla-La Mancha. This limited-edition wine comes from the A Castiñeira estate and is made with 95% Treixadura and 5% Albariño grapes.
