Cellar

BodegaSince 2015, Bodegas El Paraguas produces its wines in a new building in the municipality of Cenlle, in the Avia Valley (Ourense). Previously, the company directed by Marcial Pita and Felicísimo Pereira made the wines in the garage of the Pereira family winery, in the heart of the old town of Ribadavia. With the move of fief, the Galician firm took advantage of this circumstance to change the image of its wines, adapting them to the needs of the market. The functional winery is perfectly equipped for the elaboration of wines and equipped with the latest technologies at the service of the magical barite of Felicísimo Pereira, technical director of Bodegas El Paraguas.

Despite being an elaborate house with a very limited number of wines, Bodegas El Paraguas has practically a custom-made container for the vinification of each variety of grapes from each plot that it watches over. Treixadura, Albariño and Godello receive a different and independent treatment, depending on the origin of the grape and, above all, on the nature of each harvest.

This winery, located around 400 meters above sea level, is surrounded by almost two hectares of a young vineyard that Bodegas El Paraguas has been working towards the future. Inside, in addition to a humble reception room for visitors, the winery has stainless steel tanks and French oak barrels of 600 and 500 liters with temperature control. In addition, Bodegas El Paraguas bets on little interventionist vinifications, so that the wines reflect the terroir of origin.

Finally, Bodegas El Paraguas dedicates a special space to “cook” the wax mixed with paraffin that dress their bottles. An absolutely artisanal process, more expensive, but which ensures greater cleanliness in the transportation and subsequent conservation of the wines El Paraguas Atlántico, La Sombrilla and Fai un Sol de Carallo .
