Who are we

Felícisimo Pereira and Marcial Pita make up one of the most avenues winemaking marriages in the Galician landscape, which is Bodegas El Paraguas. Their relationship was born in 2007, after several grading tastings in different Galician regulatory councils and competitions specialized in wines. They are joined and they still are so by the love for the wines that reflect the terroir and the identity of the grapes, without subterfuge, delicate wines of proven quality.

Felicísimo Pereira is possibly the best connoisseur of the enormous viticultural heritage that the Ribeiro hides. Author of some of the most important wines that have been made in Galicia, he is the heir of a vast winemaking tradition. Pereira belongs to the fourth generation of his family that lives in the world of wine and currently directs one of the most outstanding wine consultancies on the national scene. His son, Iván Pereira, already knocks on the doors of Bodegas El Paraguas to collaborate punctually in the winery. The fifth generation of the family saga has the relief guaranteed.

Named in 2011 with the Gallaecia distinction as Best Winemaker of Galicia, according to the prestigious Galician Asociación de Sumilleres, Felicísimo Pereira was born in Ribadavia (1965) and is a lover of Atlantic wines. He has served as president of the regulatory council of the Ribeiro Denomination of Origin for almost two years and among the wineries that he advises enologically include important firms of the most renowned Galician production areas, such as Rías Baixas, Ribeiro and Ribeira Sacra.

Marcial Pita

Marcial Pita (Ferrol, 1977) is linked to the world of wine since he was 16 years old, when he starts collaborating with the Vinoselección wine club warehouse preparing orders. Currently, he stands as one of the most decisive figures of the new Galician wine. Renowned journalist specialized in wine and gastronomy who collaborates with some of the most prestigious publications in Spain, has also been the author of several books specialized in wine.

His facet as a winemaker starts with a project designed in conscience in 2006, which elevated him to the national wine elite, thanks to the red wine El Linze. After several years consolidating his success as a winemaker, since 2011, all his efforts as a winemaker are focused on Bodegas El Paraguas, in the land where he was born (Galicia). In 2017, he received the highest recognition of his parish, Esmelle, when he was named crier of the Castrexa Romaría for his applauded professional work at Bodegas El Paraguas.
