100 points and best Spanish wine in La Vanguardia

100 puntos y mejor vino de España en La Vanguardia

The third edition of the Guía de Vinos 2023, 100 vinos que no te puedes perder, published by the newspaper La Vanguardia and directed by the journalist Lluís Tolosa, has awarded the Fai un Sol de Carallo 2020 wine with the highest rating of the publication, being the only Spanish wine to reach 100 points, beating legendary Rioja reds, structured Priorat wines or elegant Catalan cavas, among others.

The guide, which was awarded last year with the “Best Wine European Book” award, has an exceptional tasting team and authors, including Ferrán Centelles (Bulli Foundation), Meritxell Falgueras, María José Huertas, Alicia Estrada or Zontal Nagy, this last one being the signatory of the page that exalts Fai un Sol de Carallo 2020 as the best wine from Spain in 2023 in the eyes of the publication.

Nagy, sommelier and author of the renowned book Reina de Copas, affirms that the top white wine from Bodegas El Paraguas “evokes the best Atlantic character” and that “whoever has a bottle of this wine has a treasure”. The managers of Bodegas El Paraguas, Marcial Pita and Felicísimo Pereira, have welcomed the news with great joy, but Pereira warns: “These 100 points do not change anything, we will continue working as we have been doing so far.”
