Titled "Recorriendo España" (Exploring Spain), the Texan explores Spanish gastronomy and culture in several episodes, giving significant attention to the world of wine.
In the episode dedicated to Galicia, Ferrol-born chef Daniel López, from the restaurant O Camiño Inglés, accompanies the American superstar for a day in which Longoria learns firsthand how barnacles are harvested.
Later, on San Jorge beach, just a few meters from the vineyard of the Blanco Legítimo grape variety cultivated by Bodegas El Paraguas in the Ferrol parish of Esmelle; Longoria, López, and two local fishermen share experiences and stories at a table accompanied by Astillero 2021 wine. At this moment, Eva Longoria takes the opportunity to toast those present with the wine created by Marcial Pita and Felicísimo Pereira.

El Paraguas Atlántico 2025 is now available

El Paraguas Atlántico 2025 is now available

After being sold out at the winery for several months, the 2025 vintage of El Paraguas Atlántico, from Bodegas El Paraguas, has finally arrived on the market. A white wine true to its Atlantic character, it is made primarily from Treixadura, the flagship variety of the D.O.Ribeiro region, with a small addition of Godello and Albariño.
El Paraguas Atlántico 2025 comes from a warm vintage at Bodegas El Paraguas. A more generous harvest than the meager 2021, 2022, and 2023 vintages. The Galician winery has incorporated a new vineyard in the Avia Valley, the Capilla de Nuestra Señora del Socorro, whose grapes have contributed to the final blend of El Paraguas Atlántico 2025.
Located just two kilometers from the Monastery of San Clodio, where the Cistercian order revived viticulture after the Muslim invasion of the Iberian Peninsula, lies the new Capilla de Nuestra Señora del Socorro vineyard. This one-hectare plot, predominantly planted with Treixadura grapes in 1965, contributes to the increased production of El Paraguas Atlántico 2025.

All the wines from Bodegas El Paraguas are included in Tim Atkin's "Galicia 2026 Top 100"

All the wines from Bodegas El Paraguas are included in Tim Atkin's

Tim Atkin, the British journalist and wine critic who holds the title of Master of Wine, the highest recognition in the wine industry, has published the second report on Galician wines for his platform. The report, titled "Galicia 2026 Top 100" and written by Australian critic Beth Willard, places the white wines of Bodegas El Paraguas at the top of the ranking, with the highest average score in Galicia for all the wines submitted.
Willard awarded the El Paraguas Atlántico 2024 a score of 97 out of 100, the second-highest rating for a white wine in the report. Willard, who spent a day with the owners of Bodegas El Paraguas, also tasted the other two vineyards that Bodegas El Paraguas produces individually in the Valle del Avia of the D.O. Ribeiro. About Fai un Sol de Carallo 2021, which Atkin scored 96 points, stands out for its "complexity"; while La Sombrilla 2022 was rated 95 points.
Thanks to these ratings, on May 25th, Bodegas El Paraguas will attend The Best of Spain 2026 fair in Madrid. This event will take place at the Loom Azca venue, and only wines rated by Tim Atkin with a score above 95 points will be featured. In this case, all the wines presented by Bodegas El Paraguas in 2025.

Astillero 2024, the most exclusive wine from Bodegas El Paraguas

Astillero 2024, the most exclusive wine from Bodegas El Paraguas

With the arrival of spring comes the release of Bodegas El Paraguas' most limited and exclusive white wine, Astillero 2024. This wine is made entirely from the ancestral Blanco Legítimo grape variety, originating from the vineyard that dominates Bodegas El Paraguas in the Ferrol parish of Esmelle, recognized as the northernmost vineyard in Galicia.
For its vinification, after harvesting the Blanco Legítimo bunches in small crates, Bodegas El Paraguas subjected them to a berry-by-berry selection process on a sorting table. The wine was then aged in stainless steel tanks in contact with the skins for seven and a half months before its appropriate aging and subsequent bottling.
Born from a vineyard of barely a quarter of a hectare, situated at an altitude of between 31 and 56 meters above sea level, the Fonte do Conde vineyard, which Bodegas El Paraguas works with, is composed of clay soils with a granitic base. This plot yielded a total production of just 108 bottles of this coveted and highly sought-after Astillero in the 2024 vintage.
