A plot planted in 1997 and exhibited in an amphitheater that occupies 2 hectares of land cultivated with Treixadura and Albariño grapes. Bodegas El Paraguas has been working on this exceptional plot since 2014 and it was not until 2015 when it produced the first wines from this estate with infinite possibilities that we now present to you on video.

Seventh consecutive year on the podium of the 2022 Guía de Vinos Gourmets

For the seventh consecutive year, Bodegas El Paraguas is listed as one of the most outstanding wineries and as an indispensable reference in the 2022 Guía de Vinos published by the prestigious Grupo Gourmets. An assessment that is accentuated between the 1,107 referenced wineries and the 3,460 wines tasted in the publication.
An achievement apprehended after having reached the Honor Roll of the Best Wines of Spain for the seventh time in a row with all the white wines produced by the Galician firm and that it has presented to the publication, with their labels appearing prominently in the central pages of the guide.
A blind tasting, where the jury cannot intuit their favorite wines, in which the white wine El Paraguas Atlántico has been greatly strengthened, receiving a score of 95 points out of 100. This assessment is the highest collected by the leading wine of Bodegas El Paraguas in its history linked to the Grupo Gourmets. Along with him, La Sombrilla 2018, with 94 points, also ranks among the best wines in Spain aged in barrels.

While the last bottles of the 'top' white wine Fai un Sol de Carallo 2018 in the market are sold out, the seventh vintage of the same wine, 2019, will be available in your wine bars and specialized stores over the next few days. As with previous vintages, and because Bodegas El Paraguas only bottles selected bunches of a specific plot, production is extremely limited, only 783 bottles. In addition, seeing of the evolution of its little brother, El Paraguas Atlántico 2019, from Bodegas El Paraguas we venture to anticipate that this will be one of the best aging vintages that Fai un Sol de Carallo has made.
Fai un Sol de Carallo 2019 is a wine conceived in the D.O. Ribeiro with the triumvirate of great Galician native grapes: the Treixadura, the Albariño and the Godello. A wine made from a selection of clusters from vines located in the most favored socalcos or terraces of an own vineyard and that have been made entirely in a 600-liter barrel, consciously brought from a tiny Burgundy oak grove. After twelve months of aging in second-use wood, the resulting wine has remained refining in the bottle until it is marketed.
In the municipality of Ribadavia is where La Viña la Cabrita is located, the vineyard where the clusters of Treixadura, Albariño and Godello located there make up Fai un Sol de Carallo 2019. Located at an altitude above sea level of between 220 and 341 feet, the vineyard where the Fai un Sol de Carallo white wine is born is composed of sandy soils with a granite base and was planted in 1892, after phylloxera, by the great-grandfather of Felicísimo Pereira, one of the architects of Bodegas El Paraguas.
