The second vintage of Fai un Sol de Carallo, the 2014, is ready to start its marketing on February 29th.

As in previous harvests and because Bodegas El Paraguas only bottled the fruits selected a particular settlement, the production is extremely limited, as only 780 bottles where produced. That privileged circulation was exhausted in the winery last October, handing the quota to our exclusive distributors in nine countries across three continents.
Unlike the previous vintage, the 2014 one has been aged for ten months in a new barrel of a higher capacity, 600 liters, although the same oak and Burgundian cooperage. Most notable in its organoleptic profile is the absence of botrytis cinerea in this crop, thereby losing the mellow touches that characterized Fai un Sol de Carallo 2013; but wins in typicality, an aspect that Marcial Pita and Felicísimo Pereira were obsessively pursuing.

The previous vice president of the denomination of origin Ribeiro, Felicísimo Pereira Freijido, and acting president after the departure of Miguel Angel Viso, has been elected by the full Regulating Council of the D.O. as the new ruler. He, this way, replaces Dieguez Viso in office, who resigned due to incompatibility with its recent position of deputy in the Congress of Deputies.
Members of the Control Board Plenary chose Felicísimo Pereira by majority. He is one of the owners of Bodegas El Paraguas and technical director of the Galician company, to deal with the chairmanship of the organism. Felicísimo Pereira, born in Ribadavia, has been linked to wine sector by family tradition for over 25 years.

After a spring in which exceptionally congealed the fruits, a dry summer and low but high quality harvest, the 2015 vintage, which remains being finished in the new producing house of Bodegas El Paraguas established in Cenlle seems to be one of the best, if it's not even the best one developed by Marcial Pita and Felicísimo Pereira in his short path from the 2011 harvest.
Analytically, it offers exceptional parameters, but its true greatness lies in the expression of the wines on the nose and mouth. Great elegance, typicity and freshness in its olfactory phase and tremendous volume in the taste are applicable characteristics to all wines that remain on the premises of Bodegas El Paraguas.
Now, we have to wait until early summer to enjoy this vintage, when El Paraguas Atlántico 2015 goes on the road, assembled in the cellar during last February and ready for bottling.

On next March 11, at 13:00, will be the presentation of the first project of Research and Development Bodegas El Paraguas carried out in collaboration with the CFEA of Guísamo, managed by the Xunta de Galicia.
At the installations of CFEA of Guísamo, the center's director, Lois Xosé Barreiro Arenas; along with the head of the wine area of the school, Xosé Antonio Meixide "Tonecho", will accompany the responsibles for Bodegas El Paraguas, Felicísimo Pereira and Marcial Pita, in the coming-presentation of the first in a list of experimental wines made from the grape variety of Blanco Legítimo.
Those attending the event, which can be credited via e-mail, info@bodegaselparaguas.com, will be able to test this and other wines produced, side by side, between Bodegas El Paraguas and CFEA of Guísamo.
