Two qualifications that are added to the already long list of successes of the young Galician winery, which with only four crops on the market has positioned its wines among the best in Spain in the eyes of the most influential international critics.

The guide evaluates nearly 11,000 Spanish wines and only a select few overcome the barrier of 93 points.

2014 wine harvest of Fai un Sol de Carallo has been exhausted in advanced

2014 wine harvest of Fai un Sol de Carallo has been exhausted in advanced

As happened with the inaugural harvest, the second vintage of the wine Fai un Sol de Carallo 2014 has already been spent in the cellar, this time, even before bottling. Due to the limited production of this aged white, only 780 bottles, Bodegas El Paraguas has been forced to restrict sales quota to importers, exclusive distributors and partners of the Friends' Club.
Fai un Sol de Carallo 2014 is a wine conceived in the DO Ribeiro with the triumvirate of great indigenous Galician grapes: the Treixadura, Albariño and Godello. A wine made from a selection of grapes from vines located in most favored socalcos or terraces of a vineyard planted in 1892 and have been prepared in full in a barrel of 600 liters, brought to consciousness from an oak forest in Burgundy. After ten months of aging in new wood, the resulting wine remains refining in bottle until marketing in spring.
Price: Between 60 and 70 € in wine stores and specialty shops.

The first wine of Ferrolterra, ending in cellar

The first wine of Ferrolterra, ending in cellar

On September 28 a new page in the world of Spanish viticulture starts. Bodegas El Paraguas successfully completed the first vintage of one of its hawthorns in the parish from Ferrol called Esmelle, to date, the northernmost quality vineyards of the Iberian Peninsula. Despite the youth of the strains of the Blanco Legítimo variety of grape grown in Esmelle and which Bodegas El Paraguas was not watching to produce the first wine from Ferrol in 2015 harvest, an exceptionally rare and warm spring provided a good setting for Blanco Legítimo clusters and that the producing company thought about the posibility of these grapes vinification. After the harvest of the grapes, they are led to CFEA of Guísamo managed by the regional government, where the process of making 45 kilograms of grapes selected in the esmudiense vineyard began, whose alcoholic fermentation is carried out in a small 34 liter stainless steel tank.
The first wine of Ferrol, yet unnamed or commercial character, will be released in early 2016 along with other R & D projects developed by Bodegas El Paraguas with CFEA viticulture area of Guísamo which is directed Xosé by Antonio Meixide 'Tonecho' and governed by Xosé Lois Arenas.
