Luckily for Bodegas El Paraguas, the most qualified wine prescribers and wine guides continue to favor the work of Bodegas El Paraguas with outstanding scores that place the wines of the Galician firm among the best white wines in Spain.

This is attested by the last of the specialized publications in seeing the light, the 2020 Wine and Oil Guide published by La Semana Vitivinícola directed by Salvador Majón. This manual catalogs wines according to the majority variety with which they have been made. The sixth vintage of Fai un Sol de Carallo wine, 2018, is now available in your wine shops and specialized stores. As with previous vintages, and because Bodegas El Paraguas only bottles selected bunches from a specific estate, production is extremely limited, only 776 bottles. In addition, in view of the evolution of its little brother, El Paraguas Atlántico 2018, from Bodegas El Paraguas we venture to tell you that this will be one of the best aging harvests that we have produced from Fai un Sol de Carallo.
Fai un Sol de Carallo 2018 is a wine conceived in the D.O. Ribeiro with the triumvirate of great Galician autochthonous grapes: the Treixadura, the Albariño and the Godello. A wine made from a selection of clusters from vines located in the most favored socalcos or terraces of an own vineyard and that have been made entirely in a 600-liter barrel, consciously brought from a tiny Burgundy oak grove. After twelve months of aging in second-use wood, the resulting wine has remained refining in the bottle until it is marketed.
La Viña la Cabrita is located in the municipality of Ribadavia, where the clusters that make up Fai un Sol de Carallo 2018 of Treixadura, Albariño and Godello come from. Located at an altitude above sea level of between 219 and 341 feet, the vineyard of that the white is born Fai un Sol de Carallo is composed of sandy soils with a granite base and was planted in 1892, after phylloxera, by the great-grandfather of Felicísimo Pereira, one of the architects of Bodegas El Paraguas.

For the sixth consecutive year, Bodegas El Paraguas is listed as one of the most outstanding wineries and as an indispensable reference in the 2021 Wine Guide published by the prestigious Gourmets Group. An assessment that is accentuated among the 1,112 referenced wineries and the 3,740 wines tasted in the publication.
An achievement apprehended after having reached the Honor Roll of the Best Wines of Spain for the sixth time in a row with all the white wines made by the Galician firm and that it has presented to the publication, with their labels appearing prominently in the central pages of the guide.
A blind tasting, where the jury cannot guess their favorite wines, in which the whites El Paraguas Atlántico 2018 and La Sombrilla 2017 have been greatly strengthened, receiving a rating of 94 points out of 100. This assessment is also the best score that Bodegas El Paraguas has received in the six years that it has presented its wines.
