In unison, critics applaud the wines of Bodegas El Paraguas
The latest issue of the influential publication The Wine Advocate, no.232, which popularly are known as the Parker points, have just published their assessments on Bodegas El Paraguas wines placing them, once again, as referents in the area of Ribeiro and highlighted in the Galician landscape.

The taster Luis Gutiérrez, responsible for the valuations of the national wines, has awarded 93 Parker points to the wine La Sombrilla 2015, getting positioned as one of the best scored white wines in Galicia. For its part, El Paraguas Atlantico 2016 reached the maximum value in the D.O. Ribeiro for a wine of the vintage 2016, 92 points.
On the other hand, the first advance of the 2018 Wine Up Guide, which is directed by Joaquin Parra, has positioned the three wines of the Galician firm, El Paraguas Atlántico, La Sombrilla and Fai un Sol de Carallo as the three best elaborated of the D.O. Ribeiro, with scores higher than 92 points. In fact, the wine Fai un Sol de Carallo figures as the fourth best white wine of Spain.
Similarly, the most influential of the wine guides in Spanish, 2018 Guía Peñín, has advanced in its online version the scores of two of the white wines of Bodegas El Paraguas, qualifying La Sombrilla 2015 with 93 points and El Paraguas Atlántico 2014 with 92 points. And another internationally renowned journalist, James Suckling, also valued in July El Paraguas Atlántico 2016, punctuating the ensemble of Treixadura, Godello and Albariño with 91 points out of 100.

Bodegas El Paraguas has renewed the collaboration agreement with the non-profit entity Teima Down Syndrome Association to incorporate a young person into the winemaking work of the association, which for the second year collaborates helping in the vineyards of the Galician firm.
Within the ambitious R & D & I policy that characterizes Bodegas El Paraguas since its birth, the persons in charge of the manufacturing house have opted into this research and development plan for giving a disabled person the opportunity to carry out some viticultural work in the vineyards of the society.
The young person belonging to Teima performs his work in the vineyard that cultivates Bodegas El Paraguas in the Ferrol parish of Esmelle, the most northern of Spain, directed attentively by Marcial Pita and Felicísimo Pereira.

The collect of clusters of Treixadura, Godello and Albariño that manages Bodegas El Paraguas began on August 30 in La Cabrita Vineyard and in La Castiñeira, both in Ribadavia town, being one of the most advanced vintages in many years and, at the less, in the seven harvests elaborated by the Galician firm.
With the frost of late April, spring canicula, summer drought and hail before harvest, the vineyards of Bodegas El Paraguas have not been spared from the elements this year and the vintage arrives ahead with smaller amounts than usual, but of enormous quality, as confirmed by Felicísimo Pereira, one of the owners of the firm and technical director of Bodegas El Paraguas.

The Esmelle Valley Neighbors Association, in the parish of Ferrol where Bodegas El Paraguas develops its experimental R & D & I project with the Blanco Legítimo grape variety, named Marcial Pita as the festivity crier in its last Romería Castrexa. An honor that Pita assumed with pride and tremendous humility.
The owner of the Galician firm together with Felicísimo Pereira acknowledged in his speech that "yes it is true that in a short time we have received recognition for our wines that six years we would not dream of reaching; but from there to being a prophet in my land... Seems too much to me", thanking his neighbors for this appointment and the craft pot designed by a Buño potter with whom Pita was given.
